The spiral symbol fascinates mankind since primeval times. Is this maybe true because of the fact that humans get in contact with spirals in nature in various, breath-taking ways? Shells, snail-shells and nautilus serve as most apparent examples from the animal world. Please remember as well the enormous natural phenomena such as water vortexes or tornadoes: they all take the form of the spiral. The spiral arrangement of the fir cone or sunflower cores is less obvious but similarly captivating. |
